HYMN OF PRAISE“Come, We That Love the Lord” #732
CALL TO CELEBRATION Rev. Thomas Ondra One:Let us start this service well by reminding ourselves: That it is not we who chose Christ, All:But Christ who chose us. One:That we are not here because of our goodness, All:But because of Christ’s grace. One:That we are not here to enlighten ourselves, All:But to allow Christ to enlighten us. One:That we have not come to be entertained, All:But to worship God with heart, soul, mind and strength.
CELEBRATION RESPONSE“Humble Thyself in the Sight of the Lord” (3x) #2131
BLESSING OF THE FOOD
UNISON PRAYER O God, open our eyes to see how the hands of the rich are empty, and the hearts of the poor are full. You took the widow’s mite and the child’s loaves and used them to show us the Kingdom. Here in the company of neighbor and stranger, and self from whom we turn, we ask to love as Jesus loved. Make this the place and the time when heaven and earth become one, and we in word and flesh know ourselves beloved.
SILENT / PASTORAL / LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
